Room Types for 2015 HBCU Alumni Cruise (12765 hits)
The Independence of the Seas offer several room types from which you can choose from. Every room has a television, telephone, private bath and shower, vanity, mini-bar, extendable working surface for laptop computers, 110/220 electrical outlets, computer jack, and hair dryer.
The room types that you can book for our 2015 HBCU Alumni Cruise are as follows:
Interior Usually the most cost effective of all the staterooms available, these rooms offer 2 twin beds that can convert to a royal king bed (with 3rd and 4th Pullman beds for triple and quad occupancy) and a private bath. It is about 150 square ft in area.
Promenade This category of stateroom is very much like the Interior staterooms, but in this category, you will have a bowed window with a view to the Promenade area of the ship, which runs down the inside-middle of the ship. Also, unlike the Interior, this room only sleeps up to 2 people, so there are not 3rd and 4th options for beds in this room. It is about 160 square ft in area.
Oceanview This is considered a step up from the Interior and Promenade staterooms. These rooms offer a gorgeous view of the outside of the ship via the outside window. As with the Interior staterooms, these rooms come with 2 twin beds that can convert to a royal king bed (with 3rd and 4th Pullman beds for triple and quad occupancy) and a private bath. It is about 159 square ft in area.
Balcony Another step up in comfort-ability during your cruise, the balcony room (as you might have guessed) has a private balcony (66 sq. ft.) which you can step out onto and take in the beautiful view of the outside. Your Balcony room options are between a Deluxe Balcony room or a Superior Balcony (larger space) room but all of these staterooms offer 2 twin beds that can convert to a royal king bed (with a Pullman bed and/or a sofa bed for triple and quad occupancy), a sitting area and some with sofa/sofa bed, and private bath. Some rooms can accommodate a rollaway bed or Play-Yard. The Deluxe Balcony staterooms are about 184 square ft in area and the Superior Balcony staterooms are about 199 square ft. in area.
Junior Suite The Junior Suite stateroom is probably the most cost effective of all of the "suite" category rooms, but is definitely the most expensive option for those cruising with us for the 2015 HBCU Alumni Cruise. This stateroom is very similar to the Balcony stateroom, but the size of the room is much bigger to give you more space to navigate and enjoy the comforts of your room. Some rooms have sofa beds and some can accommodate a roll-away bed or a Play-Yard. The balcony is larger at 94 sq. ft and the room is 294 square ft. in area.
