We currently have many different activities that we are considering for our HBCU Alumni Cruise. See below for a list of potential activities that we have planned. If you would like to express your interest in definitely having specific activities for our group on the cruise, let me know at culpepper@hbcuconnect.com. Feel free to offer suggestions as well.
Opening Networking Reception/Open Bar Usually taking place not too long after departure and before dinner, you will get a chance to mingle with your fellow cruisers and also meet with Uniglobe and HBCUConnect staff. Free drinks will be flowing so come on out and enjoy the fun as we get the party started off right!
Spades Card Game Tournament If you enjoy playing Spades or if you want to prove to the entire group that your Spades skills have no equal, come on out and test your luck at our Spades Card Game Tournament. Battle it out with other players are you test your supremacy. Our tournament style will weed out the fakers and maybe have an upset or two as Lady Luck makes her rounds.
Themed Group Party Whether it is a Halloween costume party, an all-white party, or a pajama jam, we will have a blast as we take over the ship's disco for this group-only event. Come decked out in your best or flyest gear as we dance and mingle to some of the hottest songs of the year (or past years).
Scavenger Hunt Our scavenger hunt is sure to add a little more fun to your day as you compete against your fellow cruisers to find some of the most outrageous things that you can find on the ship. Some might be more difficult to find than others but in the end you will definitely find this game amusing!
Destination Group Excursion At one of our predetermined destinations, we will select a specific shore excursion that we hope all will be able to join. Whether it is taking a guided tour, jumping on some horses, swimming with the dolphins, or even sliding down a zip line, it is sure to be a great activity for all to enjoy. The more - the merrier!
HBCU Beach Games Ready to have some real competitive fun? Well step right on up! Our 2015 HBCU Beach Games will be packed with fun, sun, a lot of laughter, and a dash of "we're better than you" sprinkled in. Teams will compete in various games to determine who are the Kings/Queens of the Beach. With games like The Egg Toss, Tug-Of-War, Sand Castle Building, Obstacle Challenge Relay Race, Beach Pictionary, and Frisbee Horseshoes, participants and spectators alike will be in for a great time and a lot of group bonding.
Taboo Tournament We can't get enough of tournaments so we had to break out the Taboo game and make it an event! Team up with your fellow cruisers and take down the competition! Which team will reign supreme? I do not know, but what I do know is that you will have fun, there will be a lot of laughter, and it will be an enjoyable experience for everyone.
The Debaters How are your debating skills? Do you think you have the insight and knowledge to debate on any topic given to you? Well, we will like to test it out in this amusing event! You will compete against your fellow cruisers to debate on issues. The catch: The subject matter will be random AND we will decide which side of the fence you will be debating. Tupac vs Biggie as the better rapper? Abortion rights? Animal testing? Reality TV - good or bad? PC vs Mac? XBox vs Playstation? Muhammad Ali vs Mike Tyson? Smoking in public places? Which came first - the chicken or the egg? Right or wrong - you will definitely be right in attending and participating in the event!
