We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Accounting Manager to join a dynamic non-profit organization on a temporary basis. The primary focus of this role will be supporting the year-end close process, managing day-to-day accounting functions, and ensuring accuracy in financial reporting. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in non-profit accounting and QuickBooks Online who is looking for a short-term assignment with flexible work arrangements after the initial onsite period. This will be a Contract (2-3 months)
Location: Onsite for the first 4-6 weeks, with potential for remote work 2-3 days per week thereafter
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee and manage daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger maintenance.
Lead and execute the year-end close process, including preparing financial statements, reconciliations, and journal entries.
Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting standards (GAAP) and assist with audit preparation if needed.
Utilize QuickBooks Online to manage financial data, process transactions, and generate reports.
Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and expense tracking to ensure financial health.
Prepare and review monthly and quarterly financial reports for management.
Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and ensure proper allocation of funds.
Maintain organized records of all financial transactions and ensure accurate documentation for reporting purposes.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a non-profit organization preferred.
Strong proficiency in QuickBooks Online is required.
Experience with non-profit accounting principles, including fund accounting, is a plus.
Proven experience managing a year-end close process.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:
This role will start onsite for the first 4-6 weeks to ensure proper onboarding and familiarity with the team and processes. After this period, there is potential for a hybrid schedule, with 2-3 days per week remote work.
